Freeda was born in Jonesboro, Ind., to Merle and Mabel Brown. She was a member of the Evansville First Church of The Nazarene. Freeda was a homemaker and Pastor's wife and substitute teacher several years. She supported her husband's ministry as pianist, had a love for missions and also volunteered for Warrick Hospital and Warrick County Museum.
Freeda was preceded in death by her sister, Barbara Lee Cox.
Surviving Freeda is her husband of 63 years, Rev. Robert C. Buchanan; five children, David (Faye) Buchanan, Martha Buchanan, Rebecca (Gary) Viola, Rev. Paul (Danette) Buchanan, Rev. Jim (Arla) Buchanan; eighteen grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mary K. Jones and Esther Jordan.
Funeral service 1 p.m. Saturday, July 3, 2010, at Evansville First Church of The Nazarene, 8100 Newburgh Road. Friends may call today from 4 until 8 p.m. at Evansville First Church of The Nazarene, 8100 Newburgh Road and Saturday 11 a.m. until service time at the church. Rev. James Pullum will be officiating the service. Burial will follow.
